I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
